The Asia Pacific Children's Convention (APCC) held in Fukuoka each year was created in 1989 during the Asia-Pacific Exposition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Fukuoka City. The long-standing association between AJSV and APCC goes from strength to strength. Each year Victorian Primary School students join over 200 children from countries in the Pacific region to promote peace and understanding across cultures. Children from Japan also visit Australia as an extension of this program.
The AJSV works closely with Victorian schools and students’ families in staging the exchange programs each year.
AJSV also supports activities of students from Japan, visiting Victoria for participation in the Japan-Australia Society of Fukuoka Exchange Program to Australia each year.
