    Japan-Victoria Business Forum

    Case studies and Practical Actions for Australian and Japanese Businesses

    The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Victorian Government kindly invited our members to attend their 'Japan-Victoria Business Forum' Seminar and networking event on Japan-Australia business opportunities and the offerings of regional Japan.

    The event will be broken into three sessions, beginning with presentations on Victoria and Japan's unique economic relationship. This will be followed by a breakout session that will divide attendees across three sectors;
    Food & Agriculture, The Life Science Industry and Tourism.

    Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF)

    From 30 July – 16 August be moved and inspired at the Melbourne International Film Festival! Experience the festival buzz, immerse yourself in the year’s most extraordinary contemporary cinema, and revel in rarely seen repertoire. Look out for the Accent on Asia program, including 11 Japanese films. Tickets for #MIFF2015 go on sale 10 July.

    The Japan Program at Melbourne University is presenting a public screening of 'Fallout' at 6.15pm on 6 August at the Carillo Gantner Theatre in the Sidney Myer Asia Centre.

    The film, which is an Australian feature length documentary, recently screened in Hiroshima, Kyoto, Osaka and Nagoya on the invitation of the Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation. Please see the flyer below for this event in Japan.  'Fallout' was winner of the ATOM (Australian Teachers Of Media) award for Best Documentary History, Social and Political Issues.

    The screening at Melbourne University, which is free and open to the general public, is being presented as a dedication to the 70th Anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.  There will be a Q & A discussion that will follow after the screening.

    The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is an internationally recognised test held each year world-wide. The 2015 test in Melbourne is administered for the Japan Foundation by RMIT University. The JLPT is open to people of all ages and the tests provide for assessment in different levels of Japanese language ability.
    The 2015 JLPT will be held in Victoria on the 6th of December.
