Beginner Japanese Box Making

Join us for a one-day Japanese box making workshop. This workshop is tailored for crafters who are interested to learn how to make a 'Hinged Box' from scratch by using beautiful handmade Japanese papers, glue and box boards. No prior experience required, just lots of patience and enthusiasm!

Please note: there will be lots of cutting involved using a cutter/blade, cutter mat and a steel ruler.

This workshop is fun and interactive where you will walk away from the workshop with a beautiful handmade box.

WORKSHOP FEE INCLUDES:

Handmade Japanese papers

Glue

Box boards

Tissue papers

Class notes and instructions

YOU NEED TO BRING:

Cutting mat - minimum A3 size (preferably A2)

Craft cutting knife (and extra blades)

Steel ruler or mat ruler - minimum 45cm (please don't bring plastic ruler!)

A dark pencil or mechanical paper

Eraser

Bone folder

Scissors

A full material list with photos of the above items will be emailed to you after payment is made.

PLEASE NOTE:

This workshop runs from 10 am to 4 pm, with 45 to 60 minutes of lunch break. Lunches are not provided.

We have a lot to cover, please be on time and we won't be able to run late!

There will be lots of cutting involved using a cutter/blade, cutter mat and a steel ruler.

Due to the duration and the nature of the workshop, students under 18 are not recommended to enroll.
