An Afternoon of Japanese Tea Meditation

11 Feb 2018 2:00 PM | Office Administrator (Administrator)

February is the time when the reality of the new year begins to settle in and we take stock of where we're heading. This ceremony is intended to create a moment for you to come into yourself. To ground yourself. To connect with the mystery and to reveal new ways to keep moving through this beautiful experience called life.

Chanoyu is a reciprocal and participatory ritual. It's power lies in the moments created between host, guest and tea together. Sit with tea, sit with each other, act together and let the power of this embodied, centuries old, yet profoundly contemporary and relevant ritual, open your heart to new possibilities.

The afternoon will begin with a short introduction to Japanese Tea Ceremony and it’s etiquette. Hannah will guide you through all you need to know to allow yourself to sink into the ritual. The ceremony will then flow for about 90 minutes, there will be time to partake of tea, time to observe and time to meditate on the practice. We will finish with a Q&A session in which you will have the opportunity to ask specific questions to help you solidify your experience.

The ceremony will be undertaken by Hannah Dupree.
