The annual Spring Gala Dinner hosted by AJSV, JCCI and JSM was held on Friday 20th October at The River Room, Crown Towers Melbourne, attended by His Excellency Mr Sumio Kusaka Ambassador of Japan to Australia and his wife, Guest Speaker Consul-General of Japan in Melbourne Mr Kazuyoshi Matsunaga and his wife, together with government dignitaries, and valued guests including many from the corporate and business community. The event this year reached record number of guests close to 250, whom enjoyed captivating speeches from both the Ambassador and Consul-General together with a special Spotlight performance from the traditional Japanese musical instruments of Koto and Shakuhachi flute.

A raffle was held of which 1st prize was kindly donated by Japan Airlines – one return Premium Economy class flight from Melbourne to Tokyo. Thank you to all who purchased tickets in the special raffle of which the proceeds will assist the AJSV in providing grass roots events and activities for the Japan-Australia community.
