ANU "Za Kabuki" Melbourne Performance

ANU Za Kabuki celebrates its 40th Anniversary by performing 'Topknot Bunshichi’ (人情噺文七元結)in Melbourne on 9, 10, 13 and 14 September.

'Topknot Bunshichi' is an Edo-period comedy about the misadventures of a poor family. Chobei is a drunk and a gambler who returns one night to find his wife in tears because their daughter is missing. Follow Chobei's adventures as he sets off to find his daughter once again.

The performance will be mostly in traditional Japanese, with subtitle in English.

Sunday 10 September from 1.30pm door open and 2.00pm start at Ross Hall, Melbourne Girls Grammar, 86 Anderson St, South Yarra

Wednesday 13 September from 6.30pm door open and 7.00pm start at Williamstown Mechanics Institute Theatre, Corner of Melbourne Rd and Electra St, Williamstown

Thursday 14 September from 6.30pm door open and 7.00pm start at Williamstown Mechanics Institute Theatre, Corner of Melbourne Rd and Electra St, Williamstown
