    The Monash University Museum of Art is presenting an upcoming exhibition by Midori Mitamura. Midori Mitamura is a Tokyo based artist who creates installations that combine
    photography and video, text, found materials and everyday objects gathered while travelling. Mitamura’s exhibition Art & Breakfast, Melbourne will be developed during a three month period as visiting artist in residence at Monash University.

    Volunteer Members of Melbourne’s Chado Urasenke Tankokai invite you to share a bowl of green tea and a traditional Japanese sweet at the new gallery premises: “We, those who have been studying Chado, one of the beautiful Japanese arts, are eager to help our friends in Japan who suffered by this unbelievable disaster to rebuild their community. Now, we cordially invite you to visit our Tea Demonstrations, where we will serve the traditional Japanese sweets and bowls of green powdered Tea”

    George and Noriko are doing a fundraising gig to help Japan after the earthquake and tsunami. Originally the gig was for our birthdays but after seeing and hearing about the devastation occurring in our country we decided to change it to a charity event.

    Ticket: Free entry but please donate to support Japan.

    Donate to: "We personally will be donating the fee we get from the Union Hotel and all sales from cds that night to the Red Cross. We will also be collecting from any guests that wish to make a donation and that also will be sent to the Red Cross".

    JAPANESE music, film and culture will take over Fed Square on March 26 in a bid to raise funds for earthquake and tsunami survivors. The Japan Exchange and Teaching Alumni Association will host Anime in the Arvo, from 3pm. Entertainment will include Japanese taiko drumming, local musicians, cosplay, anime cartoonists and a film showing courtesy of the Melbourne International Film Festival at 5pm.

    In light of the recent 2011 Tohoku Earthquake & Tsunami Disaster, the Melbourne University Japanese Club will be holding a fundraising drive to assist the displaced quake and tsunami victims from the 15th March 2011 to the 29th March 2011 within the University of Melbourne. Due to facilitating limitations, the fundraising campaign will only run in conjunction with our main events (with the exception of 18th March) during these times. for more info click here
